MOLD PRODUCTION FACILITIES

Knowledge and experience play a large role in the success of this mold production facility — especially in the selection of the appropriate tool steel, milling conditions and design.  To meet the quick response times required by some of our customers and to protect proprietary mold designs, ISC also  uses a large CNC mold production facility in Santa Ana, CA. ISC will also rely on high-quality specialty tool shops around the world for other mold needs.

MasterCAM™ software assists in the development and produc-tion of custom molds, or advanced mold design aspects for improved processing or part quality. This software, and the CNC mills and grinders, ensure rapid response and high mold quality.

LAB FACILITIES

ISC maintains a complete analytical lab for the testing, analysis and qualification of compounds and materials. Accredited by A2LA, the American Association of Lab Accreditation, in 1996, the ISC Santa Ana lab adheres to their rigorous operations, training and calibration practices.

In addition to traditional rubber testing for hardness, stress/strain properties, compression set and TR-10, ISC has in-house capabilities for IR and TGA testing of elastomers.

Additional testing for specific applications is frequently designed by Engineering. Examples of these types of tests include Aerospace simulations and cycling testing.

FT-IR analysis is extremely useful in determining polymer structure. This non-destructive analytical technique aids in failure analysis and materials qualification.

CUSTOMER SERVICE & SHIPPING

Providing a quality product isn’t enough. Customer service is a vital part of  ISC. Our customer service department is one of the most experienced in the business, with an average length of employment of over 10 years.

Our customer service department is ready to provide you with product information, custom part pricing, order placement, order tracking, specification sheets and compound recommendations. In the rare instance where there is a return, it is handled quickly with-out a hassle. To make ordering easy, all our offices are linked to a mainframe computer by dedicated lines so our customers can call any office to learn pricing, place an order or find out its status.

Thanks to our extensive off-the-shelf inventory, we can ship most products within 48 hours, based on a first-in-first-out inventory system. ISC maintains hundreds of nonstandard parts in a variety of the most requested compounds as well. We have bar coding capabilities to assist in tracking and inventory. In addition, our Inventory Management System (IMS) group has been created to manage and maintain the unique inventory and pack-aging requirements of selected customers. Additionally, Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and internet order and stock check systems have been a part of our customer service since 1990.

QUALITY

The primary goal of ISC is to manufacture the finest O-rings and elastomeric seals in the industry. We begin by testing raw materials for conformance. To maintain uniformity from first piece to last, we use computer controlled presses, cryogenic units and post-curing ovens. Plus, tooling in all of our facilities is dimensionally compen-sated to maintain size conformance for different classes of materials.

It takes more than machines to maintain quality. Every one of our more than 500 employees worldwide is a Quality Control Team member. From the initial establishment of material and size specifications to the finished packaged piece, every O-ring undergoes constant evaluation by a Quality Control Team member.

From traditional stress/strain measurements of tensile strength, elastic modulus and elongation to more specific applications testing, a range of quality parameters are checked.

To further maintain quality, our production facility in Santa Ana, CA, is ISO 9002 certified (1994) and QS 9000 certified (1996). Our LaGrange, GA, facility is ISO 9001 and QS 9000 certified.
